M2 Mac mini packs a lot of power
Announced at the beginning of 2023, you can configure the new Mac mini with an M2 or M2 Pro chip. Despite retaining the same chassis design as the 2020 M1 Mac mini, the 2023 Mac mini brings massive internal changes.
The new M2 chip delivers an 18% faster CPU and a 30% boost in GPU performance. The M2 Pro Mac mini is an excellent buy for more demanding users as it can speed up their workflow by up to 4-5x.
Unlike the M1 Mac mini, the M2 model supports up to two external displays. And if you opt for the M2 Pro configuration, you can hook up to three external monitors. The latter also ships with four Thunderbolt 4 ports, so you can plug in as many accessories as you want.
The new Mac mini is the ideal alternative to the more expensive Mac Studio. It is also the cheapest way to get your hands on a powerful Mac, as long as you already have access to a monitor, keyboard, and mouse.
Save $50 on the 2023 Mac mini
In an unusual move, Apple made the 2023 Mac mini cheaper and faster than its predecessor. While the M1 Mac mini retails for $699, the entry-level M2 mini is available for $599. Take advantage of Amazon’s deal, and you can get the machine for $549, saving another $50.
If your storage needs are higher, the 512GB M2 Mac mini also gets a $50 discount. So, instead of $799, you can grab it for $749. There are no discounts on the more powerful M2 Pro Mac mini for now.
